Christian Estrosi was questioned this Tuesday by the police in charge of the investigation opened in 2015 by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office regarding the construction of the Allianz Riviera stadium.
“As the investigation is coming to an end, it was inconceivable that the mayor, during whose mandate the stadium was built, would not be questioned,” explained his lawyer, Jean-Yves Leborgne. The mayor of Nice was questioned in Nanterre “for nearly four hours,” his defender specified.
Inaugurated in September 2013, the large Nice stadium was built based on a public-private partnership (PPP). It is currently managed by a subsidiary of the Vinci group, Nice Eco Stadium (NES).
