Christian Estrosi re-elected as mayor of Nice

After announcing his resignation from the Presidency of the Region to once again focus on Nice, Christian Estrosi was re-elected mayor of the city this Monday, May 15.

Out of the 69 municipal councillors, 57 voted. Christian Estrosi received 55 votes. 2 votes went to Marc-André Domergue, a dissident FN municipal councillor and surprise candidate.

Following the vote, Philippe Pradal regained his position as Christian Estrosi’s first deputy. He held the position of mayor for 11 months, during which he notably experienced the ordeal of the Promenade des Anglais attack.
