Christian Estrosi’s proposals on the Immigration Bill

Latest News

Following the announcement of the presentation of a bill on immigration this fall, the Mayor of Nice wanted to contribute his part. He presented 5 proposals.

“I wrote to Gérald Darmanin to share my contributions and proposals to strengthen the power of Mayors, particularly concerning itinerant populations.”

With these words, Christian Estrosi shared on his Twitter account these contributions to the immigration bill

Faced with the “migratory pressure it can no longer handle”, the Mayor of Nice urges the State to rely on powerful local authorities, particularly town halls, for coordinated and more effective action. “The State alone can no longer do everything”.

Estrosi thus calls for more power for the mayors as they currently deem it insufficient “to effectively contribute and ensure the security of their territory”.

The elected official from Nice then mentioned the massive influx of people from Eastern Europe. According to him, some of them create significant public order disturbances, which requires the deployment of “all the repressive means at his disposal to reassure our citizens and enhance security,” particularly in Saint-Jean d’Angély, Rue Roquebillière, Avenue Simone Veil, Kirchner Square, and the 6202 overpass to the west and the entire city center.

In 5 tweets, he subsequently presented these different proposals:
