The Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis extended his wishes to the seniors of Nice this Thursday during a ceremony held at the Palais Acropolis.
In 2019, the senior plan of the City of Nice will focus on 3 main issues: protecting purchasing power, supporting the most vulnerable, and expanding the offer of leisure, sports, and cultural activities. This is what Christian Estrosi stated yesterday at the Palais Acropolis in front of his constituents aged sixty and over. In Nice, they account for more than 30% of the population.
“In 2019, we will go further in what has already been done”:
A prevention policy to promote social connection
- implementation of monitoring for vulnerable people through advanced digital tools and a local team that takes over for critical situations.
- deployment of “Famileo” (Famileo is a family newspaper for your grandparents, allowing you to send news in the form of a newspaper) at the EHPAD Valrose.
- support in creating the Personalized Medical Record with the CPAM.
A local policy favorable to purchasing power
- introduction of a senior pass
- opening of nine senior houses.
- discounts up to -30% in local shops and among actors of the Silver Economy *
A policy supporting the most vulnerable through the construction of a complete care pathway
- four EHPADs for dependent elderly people (236 beds).
- autonomy residence (180 beds).
- an Alzheimer’s daycare (15 places).
- home visits for nearly 10,000 people.
- care for 1,123 people over the age of 95.
“And to start the year off right, don’t miss the Dance Marathon in Nice on February 16 and 17!” concluded the Mayor of Nice facing an enthusiastic crowd. Dance will therefore be celebrated in 2019. “Dance contributes to maintaining social connections and practicing regular physical activity. I intend to continue the Opera balls, in the senior houses, and dance classes in local structures in the City of Nice!”
And for those who accuse Christian Estrosi of not making venues available on the occasion of the Great National Debate; he responds: “I will continue to fight against the increase in the CSG and I will support the proposal to re-index retirement pensions on the cost of living in the Great National Debate!”
The senior plan will be detailed in the coming weeks.
