Christian Estrosi welcomed the ski instructors.

Christian Estrosi welcomed Eric Breche, President of the National Union of French Ski Instructors, at the Nice town hall following the opening of Isola 2000 and Auron last December.

Given the COVID-19 and health restrictions implemented by the Government, the ski resort ski lifts are out of service. Nonetheless, the Isola 2000 and Auron resorts opened last December. โ€œThe metropolis decided, as soon as the stations could open, to do so in compliance with the rules set by the Government,โ€ stated Christian Estrosi. Solutions were found to allow ski enthusiasts to head for the mountains and these resorts. For this reason, the mayor of Nice thanked Eric Berche for the work done and the guidance provided by the ski instructors. Moreover, despite the complications arising this year due to COVID-19, the local economy managed to stay afloat.

With @BrecheEric, President of the National Union of French Ski Instructors. By opening the ski areas of @Isola2000_06 and @Auron_Officiel to authorized audiences last December 9th, we succeeded in maintaining a local economy and avoiding a social crisis.

A European Cup in Isola 2000

An important event will also take place next week: the Snowboard European Cup. This is an unexpected significant moment. โ€œWho could have predicted this at the beginning of December?โ€ asks the mayor of Nice. Especially since the conditions are currently โ€œexceptional,โ€ with a lot of snow having fallen. Besides, he is not worried about the future: โ€œglobal warming does not necessarily affect the winter periods. In the micro-climate that is ours, we should not be deprived of snow, so I hope these forecasts are promising.โ€
