The city of Nice has entrusted Christophe Pinna, former world karate champion, with a mission to promote the practice of sport FOR ALL and BY ALL. The goal is to develop a true culture of sport within the city and to raise awareness and involve the people of Nice in the major sporting events of the city.
In 2010, Christophe Pinna trained for several months with a hundred women from Nice, aged between 23 and 65, who wished to participate in the 3rd Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes 2010 Marathon as a relay team. Ultimately, 36 women were selected to take part in this wonderful sporting adventure.
Iโm getting active in 2011 for the 2nd Nice Cรดte dโAzur Tennis Open.
For 2011, the city of Nice and Christophe Pinna are renewing the experience and inviting the people of Nice to participate in the VIP tournament of the 2nd Nice Cรดte dโAzur Tennis Open 2011 which will take place on the courts of the Nice Lawn Tennis Club (Nice LTC).
The selection process will take place in two stages:
1) 40 women and men will be selected, from the registration forms, based on their deep motivations;
2) Ultimately, 8 doubles teams, or 16 players, will participate in the VIP Nice Cรดte dโAzur Tennis Open 2011 (personalities are included within the 16 players). These players will have been selected during training sessions through an evaluation-elimination system established by Christophe Pinna.
Conditions of participation.
Reside in Nice,
Be between 18 and 65 years old,
Have a maximum ranking of 30/1 on the registration day,
Never have been classified in the second series,
Commit to being present at all training sessions,
Commit to being present during the tournament,
Commit to being present for the final if applicable.
Participation is free.
A total of four gatherings are planned, in addition to the VIP Tennis Open. Trainings are scheduled on Sundays for more availability from the participants as well as the tennis courts, which are provided by the Nice L.T.C.
