“Ciné-Guinguette”: when love, cinema, and theater come together!

Latest News

The Nice-based theater company “Mademoiselle” presents its show “Ciné-Guinguette”.

For the duration of a session, the actors Sophie Chiara and Nicolas Carré take us behind the scenes of the “Eldorado Palace” cinema. From laughter to tears, we follow the romantic encounter between a cinema usher dreaming of becoming an actress and a plumber charmed by her. Celebrating Gabin, Bardot, and Michel Audiard, “Ciné-Guinguette” performs and sings the most beautiful “love and argument scenes” from cinema. Catch this all-ages show on July 27th in Cantaron (9 PM), July 29th in Saint-Blaise (9 PM), and July 30th in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée (9 PM).

The “Mademoiselle” company succeeded “La Réserve”, a Nice-based association since 2008. Its shared interest in theater and music drives it to highlight the blend of genres. The goal is to maintain closeness with the audience and remain accessible. “Mademoiselle” will offer theater workshops for children and adults from September onwards, notably at the Theater Francis Gag. In the meantime, the company is organizing a theater workshop in the beautiful village of Massoins from Friday, July 7th to July 9th, 2023!

Who is “Mademoiselle”?

Sophie Chiara completed her first two years of theater at the Conservatory of Nice before attending Jean Périmony’s classes in Paris. Later, she joined the Hector Berlioz Conservatory in Paris under the direction of Jean-Louis Bihoreau and Jean-Pierre Martino. Having returned for twenty years to her native city of Nice, she performs on the stages of various theaters to act in “Ciné-Guinguette”, “The Fairy with Big Eyes”, and soon “Lucienne and the Butcher” by Marcel Aymé. Her theater company “Mademoiselle” allows her to thrive in the joys of writing and teaching.
