The association Regard Indรฉpendant, organizer of this event, is presenting on this occasion a selection of films, short or feature-length films, animated movies, documentaries, or even video art, as premieres.
This year, special emphasis will be placed on films that focus on imagery, featuring the presentation of the series “Documents Interdits” and a spotlight on Super 8 with the “tournรฉ-montรฉ” films by Straight8 and the work of filmmaker Louis Dupont. The iconoclasts of the web will present the works of several complete creators relying on internet networks and working in full independence. Charlie Mars, Joe la Mouk, Kansas, Mozinor develop a very free way of making films.
The association Atelier du Film Court de Caen will be invited to present short films by regional directors it supports and will exchange ideas on ways of operating in the region.
From Monday to Saturday, the Rencontres offer 13 programs including several carte blanche sessions granted to regional associations and departmental schools (Hรฉliotrope, the ESRA Cรดte d’Azur…). Each session will result in an encounter with the filmmakers present.

Since 1998, the association Regard Indรฉpendant, notably through the Rencontres Cinรฉma et Vidรฉo in Nice, has showcased several hundred works, fictions, and documentaries, produced in the region. The leitmotif of the cinema enthusiasts who run it is to raise public awareness of regional production and foster connections between professionals, cinephiles, and amateurs through discussion forums. Faithful to its mission, the association aims to provide an image as faithful as possible of the local and regional production.
