Here we are at the end of November, which, like every Wednesday, comes with its must-see movie releases.
1. Annie Colère by Blandine Lenoir
The plot takes place in 1974, a year before the Veil law. It tells the story of Annie, who accidentally becomes pregnant, and consequently joins the Movement for the Freedom of Abortion and Contraception (MLAC). A deeply committed film on the subject of abortion, which was still contested at that time. With its fabulous cast of actresses, this film might move you with its sensitive subject.
2. Le Torrent by Anne Le Ny
This is a thriller that promises to be dark and poignant. We find José Garcia deeply embodied in his role, alongside André Dussollier who is as convincing as ever. With its cold cinematography and gripping plot, there’s no doubt this film will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.
3. Fumer fait tousser by Quentin Dupieux
Here is finally the new film from the famous Quentin Dupieux. We find him with his ribald tone and irresistible dark humor. After Le Daim and Au Poste !, this time we have a superhero film parody. The film’s cast is as prestigious as ever, as is usual with the director’s projects. Gilles Lellouche, Anaïs Demoustier, and Jean-Pascal Zadi are among the leading actors for our greatest pleasure.
4. Le Lycéen by Christophe Honoré
A drama that tells the life of a 17-year-old adolescent, whose life is shattered by a tragic event. Paul Kircher takes on the main role, portraying the young man who learns how to rebuild himself. We also find Juliette Binoche, as accurate in her performance as ever. A poignant film not to be missed.
5. She Will by Charlotte Colbert
Here is a fantasy film that promises to be mysterious and chilling. Set in the Scottish countryside, the feature film promises a twisted plot and particularly exhilarating surreal imagery. A perfect film for this cold and dark season, to be seen in theaters starting today.
