1. The New Toy by James Huth

This French comedy features Daniel Auteuil and Jamel Debbouze in the lead roles and is a reimagining of the original film by Francis Veber with the irreplaceable Pierre Richard. It’s the story of France’s richest man who opens a huge toy store for his son’s birthday. His son will choose the night watchman as his new toy. Will this remake live up to its predecessor? 2. EO by Jerzy Skolimowski

This film was part of the official Jury Prize selection at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. In this film, we follow the point of view of a donkey. It’s an original concept, as the protagonist is not human and therefore cannot express himself with words. A poetic story carried by beautiful imagery. A touching experience awaits.

3. Belle and Sebastian: New Generation by Pierre Coré

Following Nicolas Vanier’s sublime version (which had two sequels), this new adaptation brings the story to our era. We still find our two protagonists who filled our childhood with the original series. The film will once again highlight the beauty of the high mountains with its breathtaking images. Will this new contemporary version be successful? Head to the theater for the answer.

4. R.M.N. by Cristian Mungiu

This film was part of the Competition in the official selection of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The story is about a father returning to his native village after leaving his job in Germany. He wants to reunite with his son whom he hasn’t seen for years to take care of him. A film with dark and cold cinematography, conveying a melancholic atmosphere. A drama that promises to be poignant.

5. The Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess by Michel Ocelot

Michel Ocelot returns to enchant us with his new animated film. The director of the Kirikou trilogy and the magnificent Azur and Asmar offers, as always, a film with a unique animation style. Here, we embark on three tales, with three different eras and characters: Ancient Egypt, medieval Auvergne, and the 18th-century Ottoman Empire. Suffice it to say, we will travel. A must-see film, whether alone or with family, regardless of age.
