Until July 24, Cirque du Soleil will be performing in the Azurean capital.
Combining acrobatic feats, comedy, and acting, the show Corteo will immerse the people of Nice in a theatrical universe “filled with playfulness and spontaneity, situated in a strange space between heaven and earth.”
In the Corteo show, which lasts 2 hours (including a 20-minute intermission), there are five Baroque circus Acts: “Between heaven and earth”, “A bed that brings bounce to life”, “Look into the skies, laugh from the depths of your soul”, “Pride comes before the fall… and a triple jump”, “the horizontal bars meet true geniuses”.
The troupe presents its show as follows:
“In honor of the life and afterlife of the clown Mauro, a grand procession emerges to celebrate his deliriums of wisdom and poetic impulses. As if by miracle, the commemorated takes part in his own celestial parade. Acrobats whirl, harlequins cry out to the sky, and emotions shine. Nostalgia is a source of novelty, of celebration. The afterlife becomes synonymous with joy. Dreams are more real than real. So let yourself be carried away into this festive universe, halfway between heaven and earth.”
Five performances are taking place at the Palais Nikaia, Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday at 9:30 PM and Saturday afternoon at 5:30 PM.
