Between whirlwind and calm, prowess and poetry, Saltimbanco takes the spectator on a journey both allegorical and acrobatic at the heart of the city.
Derived from the Italian “saltare in banco” which means “to jump on a bench,” Saltimbanco explores the myriad characteristics of the urban world: the people who live in it, their peculiarities and similarities, families and groups, the hustle and bustle of the street, and the grandeur of skyscrapers.
Saltimbanco is a typical acrobatic show by Cirque du Soleil inspired by colorful characters who take spectators into an unreal, fantastical universe, an imaginary city where the diversity of acrobatic feats and the charm of the characters is a source of hope.
Saltimbanco is also: a total audience of more than 11 million spectators worldwide, 50 artists of 21 different nationalities, an orchestra of 5 musicians and 2 singers, an acrobatic structure more than 14 meters above the stage, 180 tons of equipment transported by 16 semi-trailers, over 2,500 costume pieces, and much more to discover…
