Waste management is one of the indicators for making a territory a reference in sustainable development. Naturally, it is about turning good intentions into actions! This is the goal of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, which is inviting citizens to take an extra step in organizing selective sorting.
Thus, as part of a policy to reduce waste at the source, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, in partnership with Cรดte d’Azur Habitat, is providing a composting point free of charge, directly at the foot of residents’ buildings.
This initiative, which is first implemented at the foot of two social housing buildings managed by Cรดte d’Azur Habitat in the Saint-Roch district, allows each eco-citizen to recycle certain organic waste directly from home (peels, eggshells, tea bags…) to obtain compost for their plants.
The composter is provided free of charge by the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis with a mixer and a bio-bucket for collecting kitchen waste.
This project, which aims for active citizen participation, has several objectives:
Produce your own fertilizer for free and naturally nourish your plants.
Reduce the costs of household waste disposal by minimizing the amount of waste to be transported and treated (30% of your bin’s volume).
Give a second life to your waste and thus contribute to the sustainable development of the territory.
Unite the people of the same building around a project in harmony with nature
