Pierre-Paul Lรฉonelli, Deputy Mayor of Nice, presented a check to Professor Maurice Schneider, President of the League Against Cancer 06, during a ceremony that took place yesterday afternoon. The amount of the check is the result of glass recycling, which this year amounts to โฌ47,860.21.
This sum will help the association finance cancer research and social actions to support patients and their families.
The more glass is sorted by residents, the higher the donation to the League Against Cancer.
By practicing the act of sorting daily, residents actively participate in a solidarity and ecological initiative.
The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis has deployed 1,351 voluntary glass collection points, 1,002 voluntary paper collection points, and 45,362 yellow-lid bins for packaging throughout all the municipalities in its territory.
Therefore, all residents have a sorting point near their home. Through their actions, they enable the recycling of tens of thousands of tons of glass, paper, and packaging per year.
