Magali Altounian, deputy delegate for European institutions and City Outreach, and Jeanne Barseghian, Mayor of Strasbourg, have just jointly chaired the installation of the new “Europe” commission of France Urbaine.
The elected representatives from the regions thus aim to influence forthcoming European issues such as the European Recovery Plan, the Green Deal, and the 2021-2027 cohesion policy with national and European decision-makers.
France Urbaine is a national association of local authorities that embodies urban diversity and promotes the alliance of territories. Supported by elected officials from all political backgrounds, it comprises 106 members. It includes major cities in France, metropolises, urban communities, and agglomeration communities, representing 2,000 municipalities of all sizes where nearly 30 million French residents live.
