An official ceremony to thank volunteers and associations took place at the Mediterranean University Center in Nice for the presentation of civic service attestations.
A commitment to France and to fellow citizens, this is why this ceremony was established. Young people of all ages and various backgrounds come together to share their knowledge, cultures, and also to gain employment. The missions carried out last between six and twelve months.
Numerous partnerships benefit the proper development of civic service. “Unis Cité” and the CRIJ (Côte d’Azur Regional Youth Information Center) were present for this award ceremony.
Launched by Dominique Estrosi Sassone, the ceremony featured beautiful testimonies from several young participants, who shared their feelings and experiences (helping the elderly, the disabled, etc.).
With a lot of dedication and professionalism, the CRIJ and other hosting organizations strive to better prepare the youth, facilitate the relationship between supply and demand, as well as revitalize the communities.
Information meetings are organized for young people, along with new structures. In the 2016-2017 promotion, 2100 volunteers, 60% of whom are women and 40% men, signed up.
More than 206 mentors have been trained to assist young people in creating connections, discovering the social environment in which they live, and above all, to feel like CITIZENS.
