Civil Protection 06 is more in demand than ever in assisting with the management of the Covid-19 epidemic. It is launching an appeal for donations to survive the health crisis.
Due to the lockdown, the association finds itself deprived of its essential sources of income. Normally, the association funds its activities through first aid training and managing safety at sporting or cultural events. With the lockdown, these activities are no longer taking place, leaving Civil Protection without funds.
Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, the 250 volunteers of the Alpes-Maritimes Civil Protection have been on high alert. In the midst of the health crisis, their missions have considerably expanded.
“One of the foundation principles of the association is to stand by the most disadvantaged. With the health crisis, this aspect is intensified,” explains Jérémy Crunchant, general director of Civil Protection 06.
The epidemic has created additional protection needs, which the association is trying to address. It is going to launch Solidaritel, a telephone platform for monitoring vulnerable people, particularly the elderly.
