Classical music will be settling on the Promenade du Paillon this Saturday, where the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Philippe Auguin, will offer a concert on the grass… reminiscent of Hyde Park!

The composition Water Music was created in 1717 for the famous and almost legendary nocturnal navigation on the Thames, between Whitehall and Chelsea, by the king accompanied by his courtiers.
While the composer Georg Händel, one of the great masters of the Baroque alongside J.S. Bach, was of German birth and training, his life and musical activity took place mostly in England, where he became a citizen before dying and being buried at Westminster Abbey.

A very commendable initiative that should be applauded.
