The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis is initiating the development of its third โAir Territorial Energyโ Climate Plan for the period 2026-2032. This strategic document is meant to define the actions to be implemented to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt the area to the consequences of climate change. A public consultation is open until June 15, 2025 to involve residents and local stakeholders in this initiative.
Since 2008, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis has been implementing a policy in favor of ecological transition. After its first Climate Plan in 2013, followed by a second for the 2019-2025 period, the community is preparing a new roadmap. The objective remains carbon neutrality by 2050, with intermediate steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions: -22% in 2026 and -55% in 2030.
The new plan will cover several issues: sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, building renovation, renewable energy development, resource preservation, biodiversity protection, and air quality improvement.
