Faithful to its civic and educational mission, the CDJ offers elected middle school students, divided into two working committees, the opportunity to explore active democracy, engage in reflection on social themes that directly concern them, and successfully carry out projects aimed at teenagers in the Alpes-Maritimes.
The 2014-2016 term, which is coming to an end, was dedicated for Commission 1 (C1) “Health, Solidarity, and Education” to school violence. The objective was to develop a communication and prevention campaign focused both on the proper behaviors to adopt when faced with such phenomena and on denouncing and rejecting all forms of violence.
The work of Commission 2 (C2) “Environment, Heritage, and Security” of the CDJ was devoted to the theme of outdoor sports, for which the Alpes-Maritimes offer an extraordinary natural playground, often not well known to adolescents.
Throughout all the working meetings, the young participants were supported by several partners: the department’s child, youth, and parenting service, the mobile security team of the Nice education authority, and the juvenile delinquency prevention brigade of the Alpes-Maritimes notably for C1; and the department’s sports service and environmental management for C2.
