On Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 9:15 PM on the Promenade des Anglais, according to tradition, His Majesty, King of Sport, will be burned at sea. The Castle Hill will then be set ablaze, and a sound-enhanced fireworks display will conclude the festivities.
The Nice Carnival is one of the three largest and most prestigious carnivals in the world, alongside Rio and Venice. For the past three years, a tremendous revival has taken place in all sectors of this grand event, rich in tradition, which has managed to evolve and adapt to modernity while preserving its essence.
Christian Estrosi will offer his thanks and acknowledge the work of all the tradespeople who have mobilized during the Carnival festivities: the carnival designers, the florists, the companies, the service providers, and the security services who have worked to make this celebration a great success. This will be an opportunity for Christian Estrosi to announce, as he does every year and in a preview, the dates and theme of the 2013 Carnival.
