To beautifully conclude the May 2012 festivities and for the first time, the City of Nice invites you to the “Lou Dalfin” concert on Saturday, May 19th at 7:30 PM, in the Jardin des Arรจnes de Cimiez. This event, dedicated to the new generations as a sign of transmission, marks the return of the neighborhood Mai and the conclusion of this year’s festivities.
A grand stage moment!
The famous Piedmontese folk-rock group “Lou Dalfin,” renowned internationally, will give a free concert that blends traditional acoustic instruments of the Occitan language with modern acoustic sounds.
The success of this group, created in 1982 in the Provenรงal-Alpine valleys of Piedmont, is such that an eponymous festival takes place every year in Borgo San Dalmazzo. This festival gathers thousands of people from Piedmont, all over Italy, and from all Occitan-speaking regions.
More than just a musical group, “Lou Dalfin” is an ambassador of the Occitan language and culture worldwide. The group’s objective is for “the cultural roots of a few to become the heritage of all.”
