For the 13th consecutive year, the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee (CDOS 06) is organizing the Sports Caravan, in partnership with the Alpes-Maritimes General Council and the Departmental Directorate of Social Cohesion.
Throughout this tour, many high-level athletes have honored us by being Sponsors in different municipalities (27 stops instead of 17 last year).
This Friday, August 29th โ Quai des Etats Unis โ many will be present from 10 am to 4:30 pm for this last summer event in NICE to meet and exchange with the youth about their experiences and also hold autograph sessions.
Already announced for this final stop are World and European Full Contact Champions Jรฉrรดme ARDISSONE and Jonathan PASTORINO, the French Champion Volleyball players of RC Cannes, the Paralympic Champion in snowboarding Patrice BARATTERO, Trampoline Champion Kรฉlian BAILET, and former world’s best handball goalkeeper Valรฉrie NICOLAS.
Philippe MANASSERO, President of CDOS 06, wishes, through the “Sports Caravan,” to transmit the values of Olympism, which are respect, friendship, and excellence. These form the foundation upon which the Olympic Movement bases its activities to promote sports and education for a better world. It also allows departmental Sports Committees to promote their disciplines, reveal vocations, and share sporting moments for FREE with all the children present.
20 sports have been introduced by the departmental committees: Among them are Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Lyonnaise Boules, Fencing, FFST (CD Employee Sports), Gymnastics, Handball, Weightlifting, Field Hockey, Judo, Karate, Wrestling, Pรฉtanque, Rural Sports, Tennis, Table Tennis, Shooting, Trampoline, and Volleyball.
This 13th edition is marked by innovation. At the Nice stop, the designers of the automatic image capture system in city sports venues (Gymnasium and outdoor field) will be present with the i-Players video profile system. Demonstrations and presentations will be offered.
