The exhibition โIn the Noises of the World was a ritual in which I engaged for a duration of 1000 days (between April 6, 1997, and December 31, 1999), writing every day to a chosen correspondent to ask them for a text relating the emotion of a moment of the day I wrote to them, dreaming of gathering in a book a thousand emotions experienced around the world, a sort of human landscape at the end of the century. 660 people responded, writers, artists, and many anonymous individuals, with words that were grave or light, tender and rebellious, lucid and often worried…โ Bernadette Griot
