“Tribute to John Coltrane and Rashied Ali”
Within the quintet of guitarist Philippe Canovas – with whom they continue to share the stage today as part of the trio Tu Danses? – Jean-Marc Baccarini and Christian Mariotto have built a strong human and musical relationship.
In 2007 and 2009, this same trio, expanded with a pianist and a double bassist, alongside their repertoire, paid a vibrant tribute to the music of John Coltrane, an inexhaustible source of inspiration to which they continually return to draw from.
It is thus natural that today the two musicians make a new tribute to the music of this genius. The intention is to revisit, in the spirit of the duo that John Coltrane made with drummer Rashied Ali, some of the numerous compositions he wrote in the final years of his life.
Extremely committed, sensitive, and spiritual, Coltrane’s music is a pinnacle that Jean-Marc Baccarini and Christian Mariotto, like two mountaineers before climbing a treacherous slope, humbly salute, delighted at the prospect of sharing this experience with the audience.
Also worth noting is the release of the second album of the trio “Tu Danses?” called “Other Directions”.

What to expect with such a name… juicy music? Lively? Sweet? Defiant? Invigorating? The pop and French chanson of Jus d’Orange encompasses all of this.
When the Jazzic Zac association asked Noël Delfin to perform in Coaraze with his band Jus d’Orange, Noël Delfin was honored and moved to share the stage with Jean-Marc Baccarini and Christian Mariotto.
