Rudy Salles, Deputy and Deputy Mayor of Nice in charge of International Relations, received Keyong Li, President of Sichuan International Studies University and Knight of the French Palmes Académiques.
Keyong Li, on an official visit to France, aimed for this meeting so that the cities of Nice and the Sichuan province could become partners in the fields of higher education and culture.
Sichuan is a Chinese province with 33 million inhabitants. Its capital is the city of Chengdu. The university aims to become a bridge with cities worldwide. Founded 60 years ago, it offers education in 10 foreign languages, including French, and around twenty subjects related to international development.
The objective: to create a partnership to welcome the best Chinese students to Nice.
A development of exchanges between the two cities from a cultural perspective would also be desirable.
The Sichuan Province has just built an Opera House. Collaborations are thus envisaged with the Nice Côte d’Azur Opera. Likewise, the Regional Conservatory could welcome Chinese students.
