Collective Move Your Body: A Sports Initiative Accessible to Everyone

Latest News

The collective “Move Your Body” was initiated by Arden Guven, a 21-year-old student currently studying Sports Science. Its primary aim is to combat student poverty and sedentary lifestyles, but also to have as much fun as possible together around a common unifying theme:
Sport.

With the health crisis, fewer students are engaging in sports, so it’s important to recreate a connection. Exercising in a group and with music adds a motivating dimension to it.
Many young people don’t necessarily have the budget to sign up for a gym membership. “Move Your Body” is accessible to everyone, and it’s free.

The movement is gaining recognition thanks to social media but also through word of mouth in various institutions in Nice.
It has been 5 weeks now that the sports sessions have been taking place every Saturday at 4 PM in the park of La Coulรฉe Verte in the center of Nice. These are usually sessions ranging from one hour to an hour and a half.
“We chose La Coulรฉe Verte because Nice is a beautiful city, and being able to be in the city center while enjoying the open space is fantastic,” the organizer tells us.

The program?
It all starts with a gentle warm-up, and the intensity gradually increases with several refreshment breaks.
Next, it’s time for cardio, with intense exercises interspersed with short breaks aimed at raising the heart rate. This type of exercise allows for better oxygenation and improvement in heart rate.

For the bravest participants, a final exercise is set up to properly conclude the session.
Depending on the session, the theme changes; it might sometimes be stretching, muscle strengthening, or even CrossFit.
With around 25 students present, the sessions are adapted to different paces.

Amandine, 19, a preparatory student, was present for her first session with the group. She was invited by a friend, like many of the participants. She assures that she will return and that it will allow her to have at least one sports session per week.
To participate, simply register for free via a link available on the collective’s social media. The event is free, and registration does not commit the participant long-term. The most important thing is to take the plunge.
