Benjamin Duterde aka Ben l’Oncle Soul is a French singer born in 1984 in Tours. He took his first steps within a gospel group from Tours called Fitiavana.
More recently, he has gained growing notoriety thanks to his cover of the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” which earned him an invitation to the Grand Journal on Canal+ and a contract with the Motown France label.
His first album, Ben l’Oncle Soul, was released on May 17, 2010, and includes fourteen tracks in English and French that you can come and applaud on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Nuits du Sud.
Mickey 3D is a French rock band from Montbrison founded in 1996. It is composed of leader Mickaël Furnon, known as Mickey, who is both the singer, guitarist, and synthesizer player of the group. He is also the author and composer of most of the songs. Mickaël Furnon is accompanied by Aurélien Joanin (Drums, bass, and percussion), Najah El Mahmoud (Synthesizer, accordion, piano, and vocals), and Grégory Romestein (Bass and guitar).
Mickey 3D has established itself in the 2000s as one of the emblematic bands of its generation with the hit “Respire” from the breakthrough album “Tu vas pas mourir de rire,” which sold 350,000 copies in 2002. The latest album is “La Grande Évasion,” released in 2009, which you will have the opportunity to enjoy live on Friday, July 16, 2010, during this 13th edition of Nuits du Sud.
