Did you think you’d never have the chance to see artists like Jimmy Somerville, Désirless, or the voluptuous Sabrina perform on stage? Don’t despair any longer; RFM radio is going on tour and stopping at the Palais Nikaia in Nice on October 5th, bringing along about fifteen stars from the 1980s.
The 1980s remain firmly entrenched in collective memory and still hold a prominent place in the musical programming of radios, nightclubs, and family celebrations.
The artists who made the musical hits of the ’80s continue to tour the roads of France and the world, attending galas and television shows, achieving ever-increasing audience ratings.
For the first time, all these artists, who graced the nights of nightclubs and the glory days of “free radio” stations, are coming together in a giant show where the Palais Nikaia will be transformed into a gigantic dance floor. More than two hours of a breathtaking spectacle with an impressive light show, lasers, and a massive sound system.
On stage, all the stars of the 1980s will sing live their greatest hits, accompanied by about ten dancers.
Désirless will be there to sing “Voyage, Voyage,” Jean-Pierre Mader will perform “Macumba” while Rose Laurens prepares to take the stage with her hit “Africa.” Sabrina comes straight from Italy to revive her hit “Boys, boys, boys” while the Toulousains Emile and Images are set to perform their hits “Plus près des étoiles” or “Les démons de minuit,” for a crazy atmosphere.
In total, 15 artists will perform 30 songs for a 2.5-hour show.
So let yourself be carried away until the break of dawn, dig out your old bandanas hidden away in a drawer, put on the fluorescent bracelet and headband you’ve been saving (with the matching pin, of course), and you’re ready to dive back into the heart of the 1980s…
