On July 5, 1962, three and a half months after the Evian Agreements, a massacre and kidnappings occurred among the European population in Oran, resulting in several hundred deaths and disappearances.
A traditional wreath-laying ceremony will take place at 10:30 am at Alsace-Lorraine Square, followed by a mass at 11 am at Saint Pierre dโArรจne Church, in memory of the victims of July 5, 1962.
Starting at 3:45 pm at the CUM, there will be the world premiere screening of the film “Oran, the Forgotten Massacre.”
This screening will be followed by a round table discussion moderated by Georges-Marc Benamou, producer, Jean-Jacques Jordi, historian and writer, Jean Monneret, historian and writer, Jean-Noรซl Pancrazi, writer, and Suzy Simon-Nicaise, National Vice-President of the Cercle Algรฉrianiste.
