The delegations for Francophonie and the transmission of memory of the city of Nice are organizing several events as part of the international day of commemoration of slavery.
Thus affirming its duty to remember and its attachment to the fundamental principles of the Republic, which are Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, the city of Nice wishes to pay tribute to all those who were victims of slavery until its abolition in France in 1848.
