Exceptional concert this Wednesday, April 30 at the Espace Magnan.
Featuring the Korean pop rock band Third line butterfly, whose latest album was highly awarded at the Korean Pop Music Awards 2013 (Best Album, Best Modern Rock Song and Best Modern Rock Album), the Franco-Korean band My Way Killing, with crazy Funk rock tendencies, and an unexpected and surprising jazz improvisation by Interstice, a duo composed of Jean-Marc Baccarini on sax and machines, and Jérôme Achat on drums (Nice).
3 completely new bands to Nice for an eclectic Franco-Korean evening, demonstrating that the Espace Magnan, without being strictly a music venue, chooses to take detours in its artistic line, for unmissable artists and occasions.
THIRD LINE BUTTERFLY INDIE ROCK
Introspective post modern rock laced with lunar guitars and misty vocals. Third Line Butterfly is a Seoul-based quintet whose velvety sounds majestically rise above the Korean underground scene. Their latest album ‘dreamtalk’ won the awards for Best Album, Best Modern Rock Song and Best Modern Rock Album at the Korean Pop Music Awards 2013.
INTERSTICE DUB JAZZ
A duo composed of Jean-Marc Baccarini (a sax and machines) and Jérôme Achat (a drummer with accessories). The collaboration between these two allies is not new, but the sound space proposed this time is a true factory of acoustic and electronic sounds. From the aggregate of the shapeless; raw material, selected, sampled, redistributed between the two instrumentalists. The whole forms a conversation composing and decomposing in real time. The effect is unexpected and surprising. Their improvised music, tinged with various influences that attempt, here and there, breakthroughs, makes room for imagination, poetry, and even the strange.
MY WAY KILLING PUNKFUNK
My Way Killing will drown the Kaka-pop (k-poop) wave of the South Korean traitors under a sea of atomic punkfunk and plastic soul. -Excerpt from the last speech of our dear leader Kim Jong Un-
