It is not yet done, but all the conditions are in place: Eric Ciotti will almost certainly be the future quaestor of the National Assembly following the resignation of Thierry Solère, who was elected as a member of LR thanks to the votes of LRM, the party he has just joined, rendering his election void.
The deputy from the Alpes-Maritimes, who had applied for this position, will again be a candidate and will be elected thanks to the new regulations, rewritten precisely after this distortion of the rules. His connection with the future leader of LR, Laurent Wauquiez, is a sure thing for him.
This is not quite the position Eric Ciotti aspired to: he saw himself as the top police officer of France, but he will only be overseeing the proper functioning of the National Assembly, its budget, and its general administration.
However, with a service apartment included and a generous function allowance, why complain?
There are far worse things!
Then, as Nietzsche said: “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.”
