Cork Stoppers for the Fight Against Cancer

Latest News

Founded on November 19, 2003, and very active in the Alpes-Maritimes region, the association France-Cancer is looking for new volunteers across the entire country to strengthen its ranks and collect cork stoppers from restaurants and wine professionals.

Cork Stoppers Campaign

The major Cork Stoppers Campaign launched by France-Cancer involves collecting used cork stoppers from individuals, and also canvassing restaurants, creperies, wine bars, and wine professionals in general.

Ecological and Health Beneficial Action

The corks are sorted and then sold to a cork manufacturer who grinds and recycles them into cork agglomerate to make insulation sheets or bulletin boards. The proceeds from the sale are entirely donated to cancer research.

– then the presence of the France-Cancer stand on May 1, 2006, at the Salon des Vignerons at the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse
– and finally on May 22, 2006, in Cannes, handing over two checks of 5000 Euros and 4500 Euros to the CNRS and INSERM respectively.
– not forgetting the meeting in Grasse on May 21, 2006, with a new patron in the person of pétanque champion Philippe Quintais (Recently crowned French Champion 2006 with the DUC of Nice).
