This Sunday, the French Public Health Agency reports 195 new deaths related to Covid-19 and 19,235 new cases, including 4,021 in nursing homes. The total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the epidemic stands at 3,197,114, with 76,057 deaths, including 53,354 in hospitals.

As of today, 27,613 people were hospitalized, including 3,158 in intensive care.

This Sunday, the Government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, stated that the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, wish to avoid “the slightest day of confinement we can spare the French,” as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Paris airports are today preparing to control flights. Departures from France to countries outside the European Union must be conducted under “compelling reasons” in accordance with new rules aimed at limiting the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Prime Minister announced Friday night the prohibition of any entry or exit from the national territory to or from a country outside the EU. With this new measure, the Government hopes to slow the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic and thus avoid a new lockdown, an idea that continues to haunt the minds of many.
