According to the latest figures from Santé Publique France, 20,177 positive Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours. Additionally, 171 new deaths have been recorded, 19 of which were in hospitals, bringing the total death toll to 67,599 since the start of the pandemic, including 46,983 in hospitals.

In the last seven days, 8,787 new hospitalizations have been recorded, including 1,355 in intensive care.

According to information from Covid Tracker, nearly 80,000 people in France received a vaccine dose last Friday. This number represents 0.12% of the French population. To achieve herd immunity, the necessary vaccination rate is estimated at 60%. There is still a long way to go.

The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, stated that France could surpass the milestone of 100,000 vaccinated individuals by this weekend.

In the PACA region, a case of the Covid-19 variant from the United Kingdom has been identified in Marseille, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Around this case, 45 contact persons have been identified. Among these, 23 people have tested positive for Covid-19. For these individuals, analyses are currently underway to determine if it is the Covid-19 variant from the United Kingdom.
