As the epidemic intensifies, deaths and new infections are multiplying in France. Here is the Covid update…
While variants more dangerous than the usual virus are increasingly feared each day, health authorities have recorded 22,848 new positive cases of Covid-19 this Thursday, bringing the total to 2,987,965 confirmed cases by PCR (including nursing homes) since the beginning of the crisis.
In France
According to the latest information from Santรฉ Publique France, 358 new deaths have been recorded in 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 71,998 in France since the onset of the epidemic, of which 50,352 occurred in hospitals.
The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized continues to rise. This number has climbed to 25,699 patients. This is the highest number of hospitalized patients since last December 8. 253 are in intensive care and 1,759 new patients have been admitted to hospitals.
Regarding the vaccine, 823,567 people have been vaccinated in France since the start of the vaccination campaign, an increase of 130,790 according to Covid Tracker.
In the PACA region
The regional situation update in Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur. In total, 1,362 people are hospitalized (-3), 351 are in intensive care (+17), and 4,175 people have died (+44).
Since the start of the crisis, the region has counted 13,289 Covid-19 residents in nursing homes and has recorded 1,394 deaths in nursing homes. The number of active clusters (under investigation by ARS teams) is 496.
The positivity rate in the region is 7.6%, and the incidence rate is 328 (312 the day before).
In the Alpes-Maritimes
The Alpes-Maritimes department has 316 conventional hospitalizations, 84 patients in intensive care, 223 in follow-up and rehabilitation care, and 744 deaths in hospitals since the start of the crisis.
The department counts 3,030 Covid-19 residents in nursing homes as well as 270 deaths in nursing homes. The number of clusters under investigation remains the highest in the PACA region with 168 active clusters.
The positivity rate in the Alpes-Maritimes is 8.5%. It remains one of the highest in the region alongside Vaucluse (8.7%) and Hautes-Alpes (8.3%).
