As a third wave of the epidemic is increasingly felt in France, health authorities record new infections daily, with the number remaining above 20,000 per day.
This Tuesday, the health authorities recorded 23,608 new infections in 24 hours, bringing the total to 2,938,333 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
Hospitalizations
Over the past seven days, 10,328 new hospitalizations have been recorded, including 1,517 in intensive care. 325 patients with Covid-19 were admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours. The number of patients hospitalized in all departments now stands at 25,532.
Deaths due to Covid-19
With 373 new deaths in one day, the total death toll due to Covid-19 rises to 71,342 since the outbreak of the epidemic, including 49,696 in hospitals.
Vaccine and Vaccination
Among the vaccinated individuals, health authorities have recorded 105,791 new vaccinations in one day across the country, bringing the total to 585,664 vaccinated since the launch of the vaccination campaign.
It is reminded that people over 75 or with high-risk conditions are eligible for vaccination.
In the PACA region
In the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte-d’Azur (PACA) region, there are 1,325 people hospitalized (+49), 339 in intensive care (+18), and 4,097 people have died in hospitals since the beginning of the health crisis (+33).
In the Alpes-Maritimes, authorities have recorded 289 conventional hospitalizations (+14 compared to yesterday), 81 people in intensive care, 223 patients in follow-up care and rehabilitation (SSR), and finally 733 people have died in hospitals since the start of the crisis, making it the second most affected department in the region in terms of deaths, behind Bouches-du-Rhรดne (1,985 deaths).
The positivity rate in France is estimated at 6.7%, compared to 6.6% the day before. In the PACA region, the level is 7.6% (compared to 7.5% the day before). The Alpes-Maritimes currently hold the second highest positivity rate at 8.5%, behind Vaucluse (8.7%).
