Between June 25th and 30th, the number of new positive Covid-19 cases went from 54 to 109 and then from 109 to 219 between June 30th and July 6th. This doubling of positive cases, happening twice in two weeks, is worrying authorities, suggesting that the virus is spreading more intensely.
Virological and serological testing will be carried out on a voluntary basis and is expected to cover a total of about 300,000 people. Children under the age of 10 are not included.
32 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in France, bringing the total death toll to 29,965 since the beginning of the epidemic, announced the General Directorate of Health in its daily report on Monday evening.
7,297 people are still hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection. 83 new admissions have been recorded in 24 hours.
The balance remains negative in intensive care units, with 529 patients, 9 fewer than yesterday.
Regarding “clusters”, these epidemic hotspots, the DGS has recorded “333 grouped cases since May 9, including 5 new ones, but 207 have been closed”. 663 new cases have been detected in 24 hours. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 105,224 people have been hospitalized, including 18,452 in intensive care.
