The coronavirus epidemic continues to affect France, with 3,776 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, announced the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in its daily report on Wednesday, August 19. A total of 16,747 cases have been detected in one week.
Seventeen people have died from Covid in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 30,468 victims. There have been 162 new hospital admissions, bringing the total to 4,806 patients currently hospitalized. Among them, 31 new serious patients have been admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of patients in these units to 374.
A total of 399 “clusters,” or centers of contagion, are still active across the country, including 21 new ones detected in the last 24 hours.
