After the carrot, here comes the stick!

Faced with the behavior of citizens who apparently have understood little or nothing of the situation and continue as if nothing has changed—the incivility of the people of Nice (we mention them since we are in Nice, but in reality, it is widespread) is this truly a novelty? Just look at the sidewalks to find the answer—the Mayor of Nice is resorting to tough measures.

New provisions have been announced: since yesterday afternoon, the south lane of the Promenade is closed, causing inconvenience to runners and cyclists.

Then, all outings from 11 PM to 5 AM will be prohibited starting Saturday night, and this for an indefinite period.*

Furthermore, also from this Saturday, gatherings of more than three people will be prohibited on the city’s most frequented streets, particularly on Avenue Jean Médecin.

Christian Estrosi sought to justify these measures in a statement: “It is up to the mayors to take measures based on local circumstances. I have decided to go as far as possible in terms of confinement.”

These municipal prohibitions are in addition to the prefect’s decree banning presence on the department’s beaches.
