The decision follows the advice given by the Scientific Council to the government and focuses on the criteria required to know when to lift the confinement.
Firstly, it will be necessary to manage hospital overcrowding, significantly reduce the number of cases, and put a preventive strategy in place. The experts specifically call for a modification of the testing policy.
None of the three criteria are currently met, not by a long shot. “The priority remains the continuation of a reinforced confinement over time,” writes the council.
