Hospitalizations for Covid-19 have continued to increase over the past 24 hours, and 380 patients have died, according to figures released on Monday by Santé publique France. The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized stands at 24,962, which is 182 more than on Sunday, reaching the highest level since December 21.
The number of patients in intensive care is almost stable at 2,657, compared to 2,665 the previous day, with 246 new admissions.
About 4,022 confirmed cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Monday, compared to 12,489 on Sunday, with early-week numbers always showing a dip because fewer tests are conducted over the weekend.
The disease has now claimed 65,415 lives since the beginning of the epidemic, the health agency specified.
