The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday that it will “temporarily” suspend clinical trials against the new coronavirus with hydroxychloroquine.
This announcement follows the publication on Friday of a study in the medical journal “The Lancet,” deeming the use of chloroquine and its derivatives against Covid-19 ineffective or even harmful.
On this subject, the directly concerned party, Professor Raoult, described the study as “completely flawed,” reaffirming his faith in this medication.
The UN agency, which is conducting trials with its partners in several countries, stated that it has made this decision as a precautionary measure. This announcement comes after the publication on Friday of a study in the medical journal The Lancet judging the use of chloroquine against Covid-19 to be ineffective or even harmful, explained the WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
