The wearing of masks will be mandatory from this Monday in enclosed public spaces as part of efforts to combat the Covid-19 epidemic. It was also specified that preventive measures โ particularly social distancing โ remain in force.
People who do not comply with this requirement may be fined 135 euros, the same amount imposed in public transport, the Ministry of Health indicated to franceinfo this Sunday.
The places affected will initially be those where wearing a mask is already mandatory, such as public-facing establishments (as defined by the decree of June 25, 1980), cinemas, museums, restaurants, train stations, libraries…
However, the mask will now also be indispensable in four other types of places: stores, administrations, banks, and covered markets, as specified by the Directorate General of Health. Furthermore, “in other categories of establishments, it can, as is the case today, be made mandatory by the operator.”
