France recorded an additional 5,429 confirmed cases of infection by the new coronavirus within twenty-four hours, Public Health France announced on Wednesday. This is the highest daily number reported since mid-April, and it also marks an increase of more than 60% compared to the previous day, Tuesday.
Due to a computer failure, the number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized has not been updated and thus remains stable at 4,600, as does the number of patients in intensive care, at 410. The total number of deaths since the start of the epidemic stands at 30,544.
