The Regional Health Agency announces that the management system for potential cases will be extended to people returning from Lombardy and Veneto (Italy) as well as from other countries where the virus has effectively circulated (mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea).
Any confirmed case will be subject to an epidemiological investigation to trace all close contacts of the confirmed case.
To secure this care, a first level of response relies on frontline healthcare facilities authorized for COVID-19. A second level targets healthcare facilities that can be mobilized as a secondary option to increase the capacities of frontline establishments if needed.
As with the seasonal flu episode, “barrier measures” (coughing into your elbow, using disposable tissues, wearing a mask, regularly washing your hands) are effective.
