8,078 people have died from COVID-19 since the beginning of the epidemic, according to announcements from the General Directorate of Health (DGS), including 5,889 in hospitals and 2,189 in nursing homes and other medical-social establishments.
This represents 357 more deaths in hospitals over the last 24 hours, notes the DGS in a statement.
A major indicator, the DGS reports 140 more critical care admissions since yesterday, a balance “that remains positive but is gradually reducing,” according to the statement, bringing the number of patients in critical care to 6,978.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, the toll has increased from 38 to 43 deaths. 219 people were hospitalized this Sunday. 78 other patients are in critical care.
