In the Alpes-Maritimes, 270 people are hospitalized, including 48 in intensive care. The number of deaths is 169.
The Covid-19 epidemic has killed 21,340 people in France since the beginning of March, including 544 deaths recorded since Tuesday, but the pressure on hospitals continues to ease, with now two consecutive weeks of decreasing numbers of patients in intensive care, announced the Director-General of Health on Wednesday.
In total, 13,236 people have died in hospitals, an increase of 336 in 24 hours, and 8,104 in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments (+208), said Jérôme Salomon during his daily press briefing.
There are now 5,218 patients in intensive care, nearly 2,000 fewer than two weeks ago.
