British variant: where do we stand?

Among the 23 RT-PCR positive tests conducted on the contacts of patient zero, some samples have been sequenced to identify the British variant.

As of today, out of the eight cases of the British variant of Covid-19, six people have been identified as “positive” in Marseille. All the positive individuals and their contacts are currently isolated at home and are adhering to all health measures. Further investigations are still ongoing.

Thanks to close collaboration with the City of Marseille, the Marseille Marine Firefighters continue their investigations and are conducting surface and wastewater sampling within the residences of the individuals who tested positive and originated from the epidemic cluster. Depending on the results of these samples, screenings are offered to individuals potentially exposed to Covid-19.
